Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Team Member to join our team at Michaels in PITT-CRANBERRY, PA. As an Environmental Team Member, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including maintaining store cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors, and collecting and disposing of trash.
  • Deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop our store and find what they're looking for.
  • Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
  • May require mixing water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Deep clean key areas of the store, including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways, and other high traffic areas to maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notify supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment.
  • Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state, and county guidelines.
Requirements
  • Maintain positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers, even in difficult situations, in keeping with the organization's vision and values.
  • Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
  • Preferred knowledge/skills/abilities: retail and/or cleaning experience.
  • Physical requirements: ability to remain standing for long periods of time, ability to move throughout the store, regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
Work Environment

Public retail store setting taking care of our customers; all public areas are climate controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks.

Use of standard commercial cleaners and chemicals from cleaning supplies.

Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.

Michaels requires all team members in this role to be at least sixteen (16) years or older.
