Neurosurgeon Position at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem

The Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a General Neurosurgeon to join their team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. As a General Neurosurgeon, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive, compassionate quality care to patients. You will examine patients, order or perform diagnostic tests, formulate diagnoses, and direct or perform therapeutic treatments. You will also consult with other members of the professional staff as needed and timely complete documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
Responsibilities:
- Examine patients and order or perform diagnostic tests.
- Formulate diagnoses and direct or perform therapeutic treatments.
- Consult with other members of the professional staff as needed.
- Timely complete documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
- Handle treatment of surgical diseases of the brain and spine, and peripheral nerves.
- Provide comprehensive, compassionate quality care to patients.
- Provide data and assist in the quality management of the neurosurgeon division of the department of surgery.
- Supervise Physician Assistants and residents.
- Provide clinical guidance and direction to the house staff and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
- Adhere to the departmental attendance policy and comply with Employee Health requirements.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved medical school.
- Successful completion of an accredited residency program in the appropriate clinical specialty.
- Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in New York State.
- Possession of a valid DEA License.
- Current Board Certification issued by the American Board of Neurological Surgery or eligibility to obtain Board Certification within 5 years of hire.
- Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
