Position Overview

At Regions Bank, the Automation Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing automated testing solutions to ensure the integrity and performance of software applications across various platforms, including web and mobile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engages in the formulation of acceptance criteria, test architecture, and automation strategies during the initial project stages.
  • Evaluates tests selected for automation and encourages teams to create modular and independent tests.
  • Develops automated functional and API tests to confirm the readiness of software for production.
  • Incorporates automated tests into Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) workflows.
  • Links automated tests with Test Management systems to document test outcomes.
  • Generates and prepares test data for automation using database queries and APIs.
  • Creates instructional materials and leads knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with diverse teams to achieve project goals.
  • Stays updated on the latest advancements in the Testing Automation field and suggests improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs through innovative practices.
  • Participates in Program Increment (PI) planning, sprint planning, and daily stand-up meetings with development teams.
  • Addresses automation testing requirements for new initiatives, infrastructure enhancements, and application upgrades.
  • Contributes to DevOps initiatives.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert, providing coaching and mentorship to project teams and technical personnel regarding automation tasks.
  • May conduct manual testing of applications as needed.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation for testing activities and cases.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to establish parameters and comparison data for enhanced accuracy.
  • Remains informed about trends in testing tools and methodologies.
  • Assists with complex testing assignments.
  • May provide guidance to junior analysts, aiding in the development of their business and technical acumen, analytical skills, and case management abilities.

This role is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in test automation and/or software development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Management, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in creating relational database queries and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in developing, executing, and maintaining industry-standard test automation frameworks, along with planning, estimating, and reporting automation testing activities.
  • Experience with APIs (e.g., SOAP/REST) for data retrieval and submission.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and CI/CD tools.
  • Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficiency in C# - NUnit – RestSharp, or Java – TestNG – RestAssured, Postman, as well as Bamboo, GIT, Artifactory, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Experience in testing within containerized environments (e.g., Docker).
  • Familiarity with various Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as C#, Visual Studio, Java, Eclipse, or IntelliJ.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous testing practices.
