Position Overview

The Office of Undergraduate Admission at Princeton University is seeking applications for the role of Admission Officer. This prestigious institution, located in central New Jersey, typically processes over 40,000 applications for its first-year class. The Admission Officer plays a crucial role in communicating the mission of Princeton University while conveying its policies and procedures to various stakeholders, including applicants, parents, school counselors, alumni, and university staff.

Key Responsibilities

Travel Engagement: The Admission Officer will be responsible for delivering presentations at high schools and college fairs, which may include virtual formats. This includes conducting information sessions on campus and planning travel to visit secondary schools and community organizations, as well as coordinating with Princeton Alumni interviewers. The role involves making public presentations about Princeton's undergraduate academic offerings, extracurricular activities, and admission and financial aid policies to diverse audiences both on and off campus.

Application Evaluation: All Admission Officers are actively engaged in the selection process for incoming first-year and transfer students. This includes reading, assessing, and summarizing applications for admission, with intensive work required during the selection period.

Additional Duties: The Admission Officer will serve as a member of one of the office's strategic teams, which may focus on communications, diversity outreach, domestic outreach, international initiatives, or visitor management. This position requires additional time commitments, including weekends and extended hours for several months each year during the application evaluation and yield event hosting periods. A resume and cover letter are mandatory for application.
