Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/EMT to join our team at the City of Hendersonville Fire Department. As a Firefighter/EMT, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and fighting fires in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls, including fires, medical emergencies, and rescues
  • Provide medical care, including basic life support, CPR, and first aid
  • Operate fire equipment, including hoses, nozzles, and extinguishers
  • Conduct fire prevention and safety education
  • Participate in continuous training and professional development
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in public safety work or a related field
  • IFSAC or Pro-Board certifications, including Firefighter Level II and Hazmat Operations
  • NC Emergency Medical Technician EMT-Basic certification
  • NHTSA Child Passenger Safety Certified Technician certification
  • Traffic Incident Management certification
Working Conditions

Work is performed in both inside and outside environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Employee is subject to noise, vibration, and hazards, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to high heat and chemicals.
