Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/EMT to join our team at the City of Hendersonville Fire Department. As a Firefighter/EMT, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and fighting fires in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients
  • Fight fires and rescue people from burning buildings
  • Perform routine maintenance on fire equipment and apparatus
  • Participate in training exercises and drills to stay up-to-date on the latest firefighting techniques
  • Interact with the public and provide education on fire safety and prevention
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • EMT certification required
  • Firefighter certification required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and patients
Working Conditions

Work is performed in a variety of environments, including emergency scenes, fire stations, and training facilities. Employees may be exposed to hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and physical hazards. Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
