Medical Technologist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures in assigned areas of licensure, requiring a high degree of theoretical knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Exercise independent judgment under moderate supervision to determine the acceptability or rejection of test results.
  • Organize workload to achieve efficiency and report results in a timely manner according to patient needs.
  • Perform, record, and document corrective action when quality control results are not within defined limits.
  • Follow best practice methodologies and laboratory compliance policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Must be currently registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist by ASCP.
  • BS in Medical Technology or Baccalaureate degree plus completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology program.
  • Hospital laboratory experience preferred.
