Job Title: Med-Surg Nurse

At HexaQuEST Health, Inc., we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Med-Surg Nurse to join our team. As a Med-Surg Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to acutely ill, convalescing, and chronically ill patients.

Job Summary:

As a Med-Surg Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patients, performing patient care responsibilities, and communicating with healthcare providers and care teams. You will also be responsible for administering medications, documenting patient care, and participating in orientation and in-services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients and perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age and diagnosis.
  • Communicate with Providers, Charge Nurse and care team members, as appropriate, regarding changes in patient's clinical condition.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
  • Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
  • Follow the Five Medication Rights to help reduce the potential for med errors.
  • Formulate a patient teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning.
  • Interact with patients, families, co-workers and Providers with respect, dignity and empathy.
  • Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families or care takers.
  • Document patient care according to standards and policies.
Requirements:
  • Must be currently active and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • ACLS and BLS/BCLS certifications.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including night shifts.
