Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated RN specializing in Medical/Surgical nursing to deliver exceptional care to patients who are ill, injured, or recovering. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to evaluate patient conditions, administer medications, perform dressing changes, monitor vital signs, maintain accurate records, and provide essential support and education to patients and their families.

Your responsibilities will also include assisting physicians during examinations and procedures, conducting various patient tests, and administering medications in accordance with your professional scope of practice.

As a Medical/Surgical RN, you will play a crucial role in fostering patient independence by setting care objectives. You will also educate patients and their families on understanding medical conditions, medications, and self-care techniques, leveraging your expertise and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs of patients.
  • Review patient history and physical assessments with patients and/or their families, ensuring timely completion.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members to gather comprehensive patient information.
  • Develop individualized care plans, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and input from patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Monitor patient progress towards established goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Document assessments, plans, implementations, and evaluations in the patient record.
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Current certifications as required by the facility.
  • Thorough understanding of nursing theory and practice.
  • Strong teamwork skills, work ethic, and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide outstanding patient care.
