Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Member Services Representative to join our team at Excel Fitness. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in promoting a positive and welcoming environment for our members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, addressing their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and atmosphere of the club, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all members.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure the club meets our high standards of excellence.
  • Process and review daily club activity paperwork, filing in appropriate folders and ensuring accuracy.
  • Audit and balance cash drawers on a daily basis, maintaining accurate records.
  • Update and review daily club reports, completing any necessary data entry documents.
  • Maintain and clean the front entrance, providing a welcoming environment for members.
  • Adhere to company policies and guidelines, addressing any minor infractions and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for all members, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with members, providing a high level of customer service and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Stock retail and promotional items, ensuring the club is well-stocked and ready for members.
  • Perform daily club inspections, completing assigned cleaning sections and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Understand and adhere to company standards, auditing daily paperwork and helping to resolve any day-to-day customer issues.
  • Audit club inventory, communicating with management on recommendations for inventory orders.
  • Stay up-to-date on required certifications and training courses, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Communicate with, promote, tour, and assist prospects and potential members, providing a positive and welcoming experience.
  • Assist management with club promotions, training, and implementation of operational strategies.
  • Ensure the facility complies with all state and federal laws and insurance requirements.
  • Operate and assist members with use of tanning, hydro, and total body enhancement equipment, ensuring all applicable paperwork and procedures are followed.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with Excel mission, values, vision, and culture, as well as the Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a fitness club environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, fax machines, and phones. The noise level in the club environment may be loud on a regular basis.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time or part-time, non-exempt position. A non-exempt employee is one who is entitled to the minimum wage and/or overtime pay protections of the FLSA. Days and hours of work can be expected to be between 1-40 hours a week. Club hours vary per location. These hours are subject to change at any time dependent on business needs.
