Key Responsibilities- Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on employee relations, performance management, and workplace disputes.
- Provide consultation and information to employees on conflict resolution and the Staff Dispute Resolution process.
- Support management and staff in determining the appropriate course of action and potential risk.
- Conduct initial intake assessments of new employee relations cases.
- Maintain and track employee relations activities in our case management system.
- Perform HR outreach visits to departments for on-site problem-solving.
- Review changes of employment status for employees to ensure compliance.
- Develop and implement training programs for employees, managers, and supervisors.
- Work closely with the Institutional Equity Office and Title IX officers on complaints involving discrimination/harassment.
- Assist with revisions to policies, procedures, and business processes.
- Lead or support strategic projects.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 36 months of professional HR experience in Employee Relations or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and other frequently used document sharing applications.
- Customer service skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to diversity and inclusion principles and practices.
- Ability to adapt workload to unexpected events and demands.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable local, State and Federal laws and regulations.
- Strong skills in conflict resolution, problem-solving techniques, interviewing, and investigating.
- Analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage/communicate sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Absolute professionalism, tact, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Advanced composition and proofreading skills.
- 60+ months of progressive HR work experience.
- Previous OU experience, particularly in Human Resources.
- Previous experience directly related to positive discipline, coaching, and mentoring.
- Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or Cornerstone.
- Previous experience working with Talent Recruiting Vendors/Staffing Agencies.
