Position Summary:

The Maintenance Engineer is a proficient technician focused on the upkeep of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems. This role is integral to the daily operations and maintenance of facilities, ensuring a safe and functional environment for all.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in routine maintenance and repairs of facilities, emphasizing plumbing, kitchen, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises, swiftly addressing any maintenance issues that arise.
  • Manage and operate mechanical systems, including domestic water, hot water, chilled water, and pool systems.
  • Respond to requests from staff and guests promptly and courteously, providing effective solutions to maintenance challenges.
  • Oversee inventory management for supplies and equipment related to maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain personal tools essential for the Maintenance Engineer role.
  • Ensure a tidy work environment and keep tools and equipment in optimal condition.
  • Follow company policies and management directives diligently.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) standards and company safety protocols.
  • Pursue opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform requirements.
  • Be available for on-call duties as needed.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on guest accommodations and building systems, addressing repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Complete any additional job-related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Competence with standard tools and experience in maintenance tasks related to plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as work orders and safety guidelines.
  • Detail-oriented with a thorough approach to tasks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree from a four-year institution is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant maintenance experience combined with a two-year degree is acceptable.
  • Previous experience in a hotel maintenance role or similar settings is advantageous.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with MS Office applications.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information in small group settings.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Strong critical thinking skills to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to solve problems involving various factors in standardized situations.
