Position Overview
We are in search of a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) who possesses a robust foundation in software testing and exceptional automation capabilities.
Key Attributes
The ideal candidate will be results-driven, with strong interpersonal skills, capable of thriving both independently and within a collaborative team setting.
Responsibilities
- Establish and document customer-centric QA processes to continuously elevate QAE best practices.
- Influence team members to adopt quality best practices and enhance quality at every stage of development.
- Define comprehensive test strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with stakeholders.
- Enhance test coverage by identifying and addressing gaps in existing automation.
Customer Focus
Represent the end-user perspective by understanding their interactions with the system and incorporating relevant end-to-end user scenarios into test plans and automation.
Collaboration
Work closely with designers and product teams to develop software solutions that will be utilized by millions of customers.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in software testing.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Familiarity with professional software engineering practices and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Communication Skills
Experience in liaising with users, technical teams, and management to gather requirements, assess alternatives, and develop necessary processes and tools to support the organization.
Automation Expertise
- Experience in scripting for test automation maintenance.
- Familiarity with test-driven development methodologies.
- Coordination of testing activities across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in automating API testing.
- Background in speech and language understanding systems.
- Proven leadership in engineering environments, promoting operational excellence and best practices.
- Ability to achieve ambitious goals in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in quality assurance engineering.
- Experience in both automation and manual testing.
- Proficiency in UI and API automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI).

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $75,700/year in our lowest geographic market to $183,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
