ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate is mandatory.
Within two years of employment, attainment of Level 1 Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) certification as a Water Operator (for treatment and distribution) or Wastewater Operator (for collection and treatment) is essential.
A valid Driver's License and CDL Class 'A' with Hazmat Endorsement are required (subject to motor vehicle record review). It is necessary to secure a CDL Class 'A' with Hazmat Endorsement within six months from the start of employment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE GOALS:
Operators must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to comprehend, apply, and analyze elements within the following areas:
WATER TREATMENT:
- Monitor, assess, and modify treatment processes
- Conduct laboratory analyses
- Adhere to drinking water regulations
- Operate and maintain treatment equipment
- Implement security, safety, and administrative protocols
- Evaluate the characteristics of source water
WATER DISTRIBUTION:
