Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Operator to join our team at the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient treatment and distribution of water and wastewater throughout our service area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate treatment processes to ensure compliance with drinking water regulations
  • Operate and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Perform laboratory analysis to monitor water and wastewater quality
  • Install and operate equipment to maintain and restore collection systems
  • Perform security, safety, and administrative procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Achieve Level 1 Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) certification as Water Operator (treatment and distribution) or Wastewater Operator (collection and treatment) within 2 years of employment
  • Valid Driver's License and CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement (subject to motor vehicle record review)

Working Conditions:

As an Environmental Operator, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions. You will be required to lift and move equipment and materials, and work at heights and in confined spaces.
