Critical Care Pathway Nurse Residency Program

ChristianaCare is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Nurse Residency Program in Critical Care. As a Nurse Resident, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and knowledge in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Program Overview

The Critical Care Pathway Nurse Residency Program is a 26-week program designed to provide new graduate nurses with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in critical care. The program includes:

  • Preceptor-led clinical experiences in a stepdown unit
  • Mentorship from a critical care nurse residency coordinator
  • Shadow experiences in participating critical care units
  • Continued residency seminars up through the first year of practice

The program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the program, candidates must:

  • Be a new graduate nurse with a BSN degree
  • Have less than 12 months of nursing experience
  • Be eligible for a Delaware license as a Graduate Nurse/Registered Nurse
  • Have working, clinical, or shadow experience in critical care (preferred)
What to Expect

Applicants will undergo a video interview and provide clinical references. The program will begin in February 2025, and candidates will be notified of their selection status in December 2024.
