We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable individual to fill the role of Project Engineer for System Technologies. In this capacity, you will be a key contributor within our multidisciplinary team of technology specialists, focusing on the advancement of cutting-edge vacuum processing equipment for thin-film applications, prototype innovations, and system enhancements.

This position is salaried at the entry level and includes a comprehensive benefits package, such as health and dental insurance, paid time off, life insurance, and a retirement plan.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a skilled, interdisciplinary team to advance innovative research equipment and technologies.
  • Manage engineering projects related to customized vacuum systems and prototype development.
  • Plan and oversee in-house equipment installations.
  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on laboratory-scale processing equipment.
  • Prepare technical reports detailing the outcomes of assigned engineering projects.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, health, and quality standards (ISO9001).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in mechanical design of complex systems (AutoCAD or SolidWorks).
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse, interdisciplinary, and international team environment.
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to supervise and guide a small team of undergraduate students.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and adapt to evolving needs in a dynamic work setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced machining skills, including CNC operation, welding, and lathe work.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and installations compliant with NEC standards.
  • Previous experience in a research environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with research vacuum equipment is preferred.
