Job Summary:

The Operational Center Watch Officer I will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of staff, students, and visitors at the Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC). This position requires strong coordination and communication skills, as well as the ability to analyze and mitigate potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily operations and activities within the training center to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and incidents.
  • Collaborate with training staff and instructors to ensure effective delivery of training programs.
  • Monitor and respond to emergency situations, including security breaches and medical emergencies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and students on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in security and safety.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as security, safety, or emergency management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a security or safety role, preferably in a training or educational setting.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Security Clearance:
  • Possess or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials, as needed.
Travel:

Travel as necessary to other U.S. and foreign training sites, though it is not expected such travel will exceed 25% of total work time.

Work Environment:

Office environment and training sites.
