Job Summary

Tacoma Community College is seeking a highly qualified Nursing Professor - Adjunct to join our team. As a Nursing Professor - Adjunct, you will be responsible for teaching nursing curriculum to assigned student groups using TCC's concept-based curriculum and evidence-based teaching practices within the framework of the nursing program's stated mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach nursing curriculum to assigned student groups
  • Supervise and evaluate nursing students in the educational environment
  • Participate in College and Nursing program assessment processes
  • Meet NLN Nurse Educator Nurse Competencies
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, OR a baccalaureate degree in nursing, with a master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in the practice of nursing
  • Current clinical experience of at least two years in the clinical subject area assigned to teach
  • Expertise in one of the following areas: medical-surgical, maternal-child, pediatrics, mental health nursing, critical care, or long term care
  • Current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington, or eligible for licensure in the state of Washington
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful adult teaching experience in any discipline that shows knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, student evaluation, and a willingness to hone those skills the first year of teaching

  • Part-time faculty salary range is per credit hour starting at $1,208.89 to $1, Salary ranges are subject to any approved COLA's after initial placement
