Position Overview

The Daily Progress is seeking a Senior Faculty Member to join our esteemed institution, focusing on the education and empowerment of mid- to senior-level security professionals, particularly from the Indo-Pacific region. This role is pivotal in delivering insightful presentations, facilitating engaging discussions, and mentoring practitioners to enhance their capabilities and foster mutual understanding in support of a secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering educational programs to international and U.S. security practitioners
  • Contributing positively to a collaborative and team-oriented work environment
  • Leading peer teams to achieve strategic objectives
  • Creating and presenting relevant executive education materials
  • Encouraging objective-based discussions and reflective learning
  • Facilitating seminars that enhance critical reasoning and learning consolidation
  • Engaging with distinguished visitors and sharing subject matter expertise
  • Managing administrative responsibilities within the center
  • Conducting official travel to support external engagements and partnerships
  • Overseeing the development, coordination, and assessment of various educational initiatives

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Eligibility for federal employment must be established
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory
  • Compliance with the Selective Service System is required for male applicants born after December 31, 1959
  • A Secret security clearance must be obtained prior to commencement of duties

Educational Background

A degree in education or a relevant subject-matter field is essential, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a four-year course of study.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in an international or security-related discipline
  • Experience in the Indo-Pacific region is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated proficiency in teaching and seminar facilitation
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member
  • Experience in multinational and strategic policy environments

Compensation and Employment Conditions

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications, with a competitive salary range. Faculty positions are limited-term, excepted-service roles, with potential for renewal.
