Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties will include:
- Conducting thorough security screenings of passengers and baggage.
- Implementing security protocols to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive areas.
- Collaborating with law enforcement and emergency response teams to enhance security measures.
- Providing guidance and training to junior staff on security practices and procedures.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years at the time of application.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive Background Investigation (BI).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
- Selective Service registration is mandatory.
- Availability for various shifts and overtime as necessary.
- Meet medical standards for screening roles, including physical examinations and assessments.
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of one year of experience in a Transportation Security Officer role or equivalent.
- Specialized experience that includes utilizing instructional methods to deliver formal training or education in designated subjects.
Credit for experience is calculated based on a standard 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited proportionally.
Additional InformationThis position offers a Cost-of-Living Allowance (COLA) of 8.90%, which is not included in the salary amount. Employment with the TSA does not confer 'Competitive Status' typically associated with other federal positions.
All selected candidates must undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment. The TSA is committed to providing a reliable and trustworthy workforce.
