Job Overview

Casa de los Niños is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our behavioral health services team, you will provide home-based intervention services, referral, and coordination of activities to support members and their guardians in achieving service planning and treatment goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide home-based intervention services to support members and their families in achieving service planning and treatment goals.
  • Referral and coordination of activities to support members and their guardians in achieving service planning and treatment goals.
  • Engage members and their families in recovery-oriented treatment activities and support the Recovery Coach and other team members in the delivery of behavioral health services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical service records, prepare and provide accurate reports, and submit data in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Interface with DCS, the courts, and other partners regarding child well-being, family stability, and case planning.
  • Provide services related to the acuity of the client's needs, including crisis management and documentation of service delivery.
  • Provide positive, proactive communication to other system partners related to care coordination needs.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age (licensing requirement).
  • HS Diploma or Associate's Degree may be considered with relevant behavioral health experience.
  • Bachelor's degree and Six (6) months of behavioral health work experience and able to pass a skills assessment preferred.
  • Proof of COVID immunization.
  • Behavioral health work experience may be paid, volunteer, or internship experience working with persons with a mental health diagnosis, emotional impairment, or at-risk categories.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to and from client's homes and/or other relevant organizations or agencies.
  • Position requires variable schedules including evening and weekend hours.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Must possess or be able to qualify for a valid Arizona department of public safety level one fingerprint clearance card.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license and be insurable under the agency's automobile policy.
  • Must be able to meet training and agency requirements for the position.
