Job Summary

Springfield Hospital Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Complex Laboratory Tests

You will be responsible for performing a variety of complex laboratory tests, including blood tests, urine tests, and other specialized tests. Your attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols will ensure accurate and reliable results.

  • Monitor Quality Control Programs

You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining quality control programs to ensure that our laboratory services meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

  • Promote Cost-Effective Testing Practices

You will be responsible for promoting cost-effective testing practices and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Communicate with Medical Professionals

You will be responsible for communicating with medical professionals, including physicians and nurses, to provide them with accurate and timely laboratory results.

  • Demonstrate Commitment to Patient Care

You will be responsible for demonstrating a commitment to patient care and professionalism in all aspects of your work.

Requirements
  • Medical Technologist (MT) Certification

You must have a Medical Technologist (MT) certification from a recognized accrediting agency.

  • Four (4) Years' Experience

You must have at least four (4) years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably with a Medical Technologist (MT) certification.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

You must have a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

  • Effective Communication Skills

You must have effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate with medical professionals and other stakeholders.

  • Strong Critical Thinking Skills

You must have strong critical thinking skills to analyze complex laboratory data and make informed decisions.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

You must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Associate Degree in Medical Technology

A bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is preferred, but an associate degree in Medical Technology with MLT (ASCP) certification is also acceptable.
