Job Description

At Springfield Hospital Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Credentialing Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our healthcare services by properly credentialing and privileging healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical credentialing procedures and standards, as well as experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. They will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing credentialing information, coordinating with healthcare providers and administrative staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

The Credentialing Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining the quality and safety of our healthcare services, and will work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and regulatory bodies to ensure that all credentialing activities are completed accurately and efficiently.

Requirements for this role include:

  • An associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of medical credentialing procedures and standards
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
  • Working knowledge of clinical and/or hospital operations and procedures
  • Knowledge of clinical privilege criteria development
  • Knowledge of medical staff policies, regulations, and bylaws
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and draw inferences from research findings
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to use independent judgment and manage confidential information
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Database management skills
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
