Product Development Coordinator Job Description

At Ukrop's Homestyle Foods, we're committed to delivering high-quality, fresh food to our customers. As a Product Development Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our product development projects, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support product development projects by capturing, analyzing, and interpreting data to ensure project success.
  • Participate in product development cuttings and investigations, documenting and addressing quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Coordinate production runs and train associates on the production line to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to support the development and launch of new products and process changes.
  • Attend cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment and progress on development projects.
  • Coordinate shelf-life evaluations for new and existing products to ensure quality and safety.
  • Assist in evaluating new and substitute raw materials to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Track and communicate seasonal designs of bakery products internally and externally.
  • Coordinate samples for sales teams and gather product information and photos for retail customers.
  • Support the marketing team by coordinating eCommerce pictures and uploading photos to data pool partners.
  • Capture cake builds, bake loss, and other related data points to support annual regulatory and recipe verification.
  • Assist in maintaining food labeling databases and proprietary software systems.
  • Balance multiple projects while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
  • Perform other related duties, special projects, and functions as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A.S. or B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Culinary, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food product development or related work experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
