Job Title: Senior Inspector

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Inspector to join our team in Region 8 of the NYSDOT. As a Senior Inspector, you will be responsible for performing senior-level inspections, ensuring contractor compliance with plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance.
  • Assign, schedule, and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the project.
  • Prepare project inspection reports and notify contractors of non-compliance and corrective action.
  • Perform field tests and interact with the general public, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties during the construction process.
  • Work on behalf of the client to resolve construction-related field issues.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of roadway construction inspection experience.
  • NICET III, ACI Concrete Inspection, Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) training, and OSHA 10Hr certifications.
  • Strong computer proficiency and knowledge of construction techniques, reading and understanding plans and specifications, procedures, methods, equipment, and materials.
  • Active driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection situations.
