Job Summary

The Director of Clinical Laboratories is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the clinical laboratory experience in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Sonography, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging Programs. This includes oversight of laboratory faculty and personnel, equipment, supplies, safety, laboratory policies, quality assurance, curriculum, and testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-quality laboratory faculty and ensure that there are sufficient faculty with adequate experience and training.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors to maintain and implement a curriculum that is current, robust, and adapts to new developments in the field.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is sufficient and appropriate to adequately prepare students for the clinical environment.
  • Coordinate meetings and training for Laboratory Faculty and audit instructor's classes to ensure quality.
  • Assist Program Directors in the development of laboratory class schedules and laboratory instructor scheduling.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the laboratory instructors if there is an absence and coordinate coverage in collaboration with the Program Directors.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or higher required; willingness to pursue a Bachelor's Degree if not already obtained.
  • Registered as ARDMS or ARRT or CCI or ARMRIT as applicable.
  • 4 years of clinical experience in the respective field.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and motivation skills.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Meet all applicable regulatory requirements (ACCSC and state regulatory body).
