Job Summary

The University of Idaho is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor in Communication to join the Department of Psychology and Communication. We are looking for a candidate whose research focuses on human communication and who will contribute to an inclusive, diverse, and equitable learning and working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Teach required lower and upper division Communication courses, elective Communication courses, and Communication courses that fulfill general education requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a research program that informs and advances our understanding of human communication.
  • Participate in department service and mentor students.
Requirements
  • PhD in Communication or Communication Studies.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses.
  • Experience teaching in both in-person and online formats.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience seeking or obtaining external funding.
  • Experience with mentoring undergraduate students.
  • Ability to conduct and publish independent and collaborative research.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff in the department and across campus.
  • Experience with academic program assessment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
