Job Summary

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the university community. The successful candidate will oversee and implement university safety and security policies, creating a secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct security patrols on campus and at events, reporting emergencies to university officials as needed.
  • Assist with Safe Walks, extra patrol requests, building lockouts, and on-call notifications.
  • Enforce university alcohol policies and monitor access control, checking credentials and enforcing clear bag requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's goals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work a non-standard schedule and meet the needs of the department.
  • One year of experience as a safety/security officer is preferred.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate must be able to move around campus, carry items weighing up to 40 pounds, and work in inclement weather conditions.
