Position Summary: The Maintenance Helper will assist Maintenance Technicians in ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of heavy machinery, conveyors, shredders, and facility infrastructure.

Daily Responsibilities: This role is integral to our mission of enhancing waste recovery. Our dedicated team strives to create a cleaner future for our community and environment.

Key Duties Include:

  • Conducting inspections of machinery, including gearboxes, bearings, and electrical systems, and reporting any issues.
  • Assisting technicians in maximizing equipment reliability.
  • Performing thorough cleaning of machinery using compressed air and manual techniques.
  • Applying lubricants to machinery components and replenishing fluids.
  • Maintaining a strong sense of pride in work and striving to meet all objectives.
  • Supporting the overall mission of MarBorg Industries.
  • Other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Basic maintenance skills and familiarity with tools and equipment.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to diagnose basic mechanical issues and perform adjustments.
  • Trained in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Familiarity with pre-job and post-job checklists.
  • Fall protection training.
  • Experience with man lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Knowledge of daily maintenance documentation.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand tools.
  • Experience working with compressed air safely.
  • Prior experience with heavy machinery is preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulations is essential. Basic Spanish communication skills are a plus.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and apply concepts of algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Capability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Certifications:

  • Valid Class C Driver's License.
  • Forklift certification is desirable.

Physical Demands: The role requires manual dexterity and the ability to lift and move heavy objects. Regular exposure to mechanical parts and outdoor conditions is expected.

Work Environment: The position operates in a drug-free and alcohol-free workplace, with potential exposure to loud noise and hazardous conditions. Protective gear is required.
