Job Overview

The Okonite Company, a leader in the manufacturing of cable products, is seeking a full-time, skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our operations.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to work in a demanding industrial setting. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least three years of experience in industrial maintenance. Responsibilities include:

  • Repairing forklifts and other machinery
  • Installing, maintaining, and testing all facility equipment, including manufacturing machines and utilities
  • Conducting welding and brazing tasks
  • Utilizing precision measuring tools and interpreting blueprints
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment maintenance assessment
  • Experience in maintaining industrial machinery
  • Skilled in welding and fabrication techniques (stick, MIG, TIG)
  • Competence in sheet metal fabrication
  • Proficient with engine lathes (non-CNC) for various machining tasks
  • Experience with vertical milling machines
  • Basic pipe fitting and plumbing skills in various materials
  • Knowledge of power transmission systems and their maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Fundamental understanding of industrial electrical systems
  • General carpentry skills
  • Possession of necessary tools for the role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and attention to detail
