Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations

The Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategic plans to manage and lead all cost, production, quality, and delivery activities for energy storage products. This includes developing a growing team of experts supporting procurement, manufacturing, quality, and logistics. The individual will oversee global supply chain operations, forecasting, planning, and procurement, production, quality, and transportation to ensure the company is executing customer requirements and creating strategic plans to achieve strong supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement manufacturing plans, places, and personnel, including contract manufacturing suppliers and product materials and component suppliers.
• Develop strategic operating plans and respond to changing business conditions, with an emphasis on customer experience.
• Develop and maintain an organizational design that is aligned with the achievement of overall business objectives and is responsive to customer needs.
• Contribute to product development, including DFM and DFA consultation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to supply chain and distribution operations.
• Contribute to and review regulatory submissions.
• Lead process improvements through various means, including automation and process improvements throughout the company.
• Lead the supply chain function by developing and communicating a clear vision across functional teams and stakeholders to drive successful business processes and growth.
• Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process with the Sales and Operations teams.
• Develop the warehousing requirements and capabilities to support a built-to-order Energy Storage product with 20-year service requirements for spare parts management.
• Reviews and maintains the development of budgets for all activities within areas of responsibility.
• Lead and develop procurement capabilities to negotiate purchase supply agreements with strategic suppliers.
• Lead quality efforts to use data, customer insights, and root cause analytics to address product and/or process improvements and present these to other departments and senior management.
• Develop and implement KPIs, activity metrics, and improve the use of performance measures.
• Achieve and maintain relevant International Organization for Standards (ISO) management systems, including quality, safety, and environmental activities.
• Ensure proper processes and technologies are in place for scale.
• Develops the department through growth opportunities and training, maintains staff through recruiting efforts, and communicates job expectations.
• Adhere to federal and state regulations. Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures. Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration, or equivalent.
• Master's degree in engineering or business administration preferred.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience in supply chain operations, logistics, and vendor management.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience managing international supply chain & logistics at the VP level is preferred.
• Relevant experience in this type of role leading supply chain and manufacturing for large industrial equipment which are engineer-to-order, build-to-order, or assemble-to-order.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, people leadership experience.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing supply chain strategies that drive business results.
• Strong leadership and management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand and respond to inquiries and complaints from regulatory agencies.
• Highly collaborative with a genuine passion for customer service.
• The ability to maintain calm under pressure.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members on all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work in a dynamic start-up environment where initiative and ownership is a must.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 25%.
