Role Overview

Mercant McIntyre & Associates seeks an experienced Government Relations and Grants Expert to join our team in Washington D.C.

This key position requires strong analytical and communication skills to support our clients in navigating the complexities of federal government policy and budget processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze federal budget proposals and track legislative actions to inform our client services team.
  • Identify competitive federal grant opportunities and develop comprehensive grant strategies for our clients.
  • Conduct research on policy trends and priorities in key client sectors.
  • Draft and submit grant proposals on behalf of our clients.
  • Schedule meetings and assist with hosting clients in Washington D.C.
  • Engage in business development activities and support our political fundraising capabilities.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with prior experience in a client-facing role.
  • Familiarity with the federal budget and appropriations process.
  • Competitive candidates may have prior experience working with federal discretionary grants.
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
  • Ability to synthesize and accurately summarize lengthy materials.
  • Self-motivated, task-oriented, and able to work independently.
