Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and control activities of the maintenance department to maintain, repair, and renovate facilities
  • Maintain flow and quality of work to ensure timely completion of assigned workload and adherence to standards of quality control
  • Maintain adequate inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies and initiate requisitions as needed
  • In the absence of the Director and Assistant Director, assume full responsibilities of the department and share weekend duties with other managers
  • Monitor and inspect employee work performance to ensure performance standards are maintained through use of computer reports
  • Orient and train new employees and provide continuing guidance and on-the-job training to all assigned personnel
  • Prepare performance evaluations for assigned personnel
  • Monitor and coordinate preventative maintenance and building and property repair and improvement projects performed by vendors and contractors
Requirements
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Must be knowledgeable in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems
  • Previous experience with computerized work order systems highly preferred
  • Ability to meet the needs of the facility and make sound decisions, sometimes under stress
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
