As a key member of Apple's CPU design team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our industry-leading CPU designs. Your expertise in physical design methodology and optimization will be instrumental in driving innovation and excellence in our products.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with CPU CAD and design teams to develop new flows and algorithms that improve Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) of our CPU designs.
- Analyze and optimize CPU partitions to identify opportunities for improvement and develop new physical design flows to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Work closely with STA, library, tech, and post-silicon teams to improve optimization during physical design and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant industry experience and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong fundamentals in digital circuits, timing/power concepts, and logic design.
- Basic scripting skills to interface with tools and mine data.
- Experience using industry-standard synthesis, PnR, and STA tools.
- Strong understanding of high-performance and low-power physical design techniques.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, TCL, or Perl.
- Ability to write algorithms and code to extract Power, Performance, and Area during physical design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
