Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Service Advisor Field to join our team at Butler Machinery Company. As a Service Advisor Field, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our service department, providing exceptional customer service, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Service Manager in quoting, estimating, and delivering CVA's (service contracts) for upcoming jobs coming into the service department.
  • Assign jobs and work areas to Service Technicians according to their skills and knowledge.
  • Seek customer feedback proactively, anticipate problems, and respond promptly.
  • Respond to and follow up on employee issues and concerns.
  • Review all repair work orders for accuracy concerning parts, materials, and labor, and approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer.
  • Work with the Service Manager or supervisor in all aspects of the service department in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Service Manager (may fill the Service Manager's role in their absence).
  • Advise the Service Manager of all customer complaints.
  • Assist the team in implementing Contamination Control Guidelines.
  • Meet with the Service Manager on a regular basis to review department performance, profitability, and efficiencies.
  • Exhibit technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within the dealership's area of responsibility.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Conduct yourself in the presence of customers and community to present a professional image of Butler Machinery Company.
  • Seek and participate proactively in available company-sponsored training to develop and advance your knowledge base and skill set.
  • Participate in all company/location-driven communication efforts, including customer events, department meetings, and other related efforts.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Work within and promote the vision, mission, and values of Butler Machinery Company.
  • This position will also assist the heavy equipment service manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties:
  • May have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Organize, communicate, and delegate responsibilities and priorities to subordinates to ensure the successful operation of the department.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback that recognizes employee performance, motivating employees and promoting self-development.
  • Communicate with and coach employees on assignments, providing technical expertise as needed.
  • Select, train, and develop employees consistent with department/division goals, providing coaching on career development.
Qualifications:
  • A high school and/or technical school education or equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
