Automotive Service Advisor

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Service Advisor to provide exceptional customer service and manage service consultant duties at Granite Automotive in Rapid City, South Dakota.

This key individual contributor position requires a strong knowledge of automotive mechanics, customer service, and computer skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting customers promptly and providing timely professional service
  • Providing excellent customer service by listening to customer inquiries and requests, asking questions to identify service needs, resolving customer concerns, and selling additional services when appropriate
  • Estimating cost and completion time/settling customer accounts
  • Communicating with customers about the status of work
  • Coordinating activities to ensure repair work is fixed right the first time and completed on time
  • Inspecting every finished repair order for proper completion, pricing accuracy, and legibility
  • Meeting or exceeding goals for add-on sales
  • Delivering the right car in perfect condition every time
  • Identifying repeat customers and treating them accordingly
  • Answering incoming telephone calls promptly, courteously, and making every effort to satisfy the caller's inquiry
  • Documenting repair order changes
  • Eliminating surprises for the customer by reviewing service repairs and their associated charges to ensure accuracy
  • Promptly addressing and resolving customer viewpoint and service follow-up issues

Requirements include:

  • High School Graduate required
  • Valid in-state driver's license and a good driving record
  • 2 years in an automotive service environment preferred
  • Mechanical experience preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Computer Skills
  • Organized and able to manage time wisely
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills including excellent customer service and phone skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Professional personal appearance
