As a Field Safety Advisor at Southern California Edison, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our employees and contract partners. Your primary responsibility will be to provide safety guidance, monitoring, and policy/rule interpretation for projects and operations throughout the Edison territory.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct workplace safety inspections and audits to ensure safe work practices and program compliance.
- Collaborate with SCE representatives to discuss positive observations and observations requiring corrective actions.
- Attend and participate in meetings to guide decisions and support assigned groups in all matters involving safety.
- Conduct research and provide innovative ideas for developing cost-effective solutions and management of safe work practices.
- Report, investigate, review, and comment on incident documentation to ensure accurate reporting of the incident sequence of events, contributing factors, root cause, and corrective actions.
- Seven or more years of experience in construction, maintenance, or operations related to transmission, substation, distribution, and/or experience related to industrial safety.
- Two or more years of experience working with, communicating, and assuring safe work practices.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to provide 24-hour, 7-day coverage during emergency/storm response within a designated area of responsibility as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field.
- Experience participating in safety investigations, determining root causes, and recommending solutions.
- Experience performing analyses and making recommendations for improvements in work methods.
- Knowledge of CAL/OSHA and other governmental regulations relating to the electric utility industry.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
