POSITION SUMMARY

This paid internship offers the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the day-to-day operations of the HR functions within Lumbermen's and to assist in a variety of tasks and projects.

Interns will be able to work alongside the HR team and will complete a special project to gain valuable experience in the field and better our organization going forward.


Specific opportunities this position offers include:
Learning company philosophies, culture and branding
Learning recruiting and onboarding strategies and processes
Assisting in the recruiting process through conducting phone screens, onsite interviews and making hiring recommendations
Assisting in orientation and trainings
Learning payroll processes and shadowing payroll execution
Learning the basics of benefits administration
Learning the performance review philosophy and administration process
Learning about compensation management and use of PayScale for developing positional wage scales
Assisting in handling employee relations issues, as applicable
Navigating through HR simulations to learn how to apply learning and experience
Completing a special project (to be determined based on areas of interest in the above)

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

At least 2 years of college coursework completed in Human Resources
