About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at McCarthy Tire Service Co. As a key member of our transportation logistics team, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshooting, and repairing complex vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex problems with vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Quality Control: Inspect the quality of outside repairs and rebuilds, and assess structural damage to assign necessary repairs.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency breakdowns and conduct safety checks on vehicles.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance personnel to ensure efficient and effective repairs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems; ability to diagnose complex problems and repair vehicles efficiently.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet physical demands of the job.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
