We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at McCarthy Tire Service Co in Hagerstown, MD. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshooting, and repairing major components on vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and ensure timely and effective repair of any problems identified during an inspection.
- Perform proficient inspection, diagnosis, and moderately complex repair of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Aid, guide, and direct other maintenance personnel as needed.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
- Advises supervisor immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Inspect the quality of outside/supplier repairs and or rebuilds, and assess structural damage and assign needed repairs utilizing the most appropriate method(s).
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns and conduct safety checks on vehicles.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and must have a clean driving record.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and physical.
