Key Responsibilities:
- Guide managers in resource allocation based on patient demand, available space, budgetary limits, and departmental goals to maintain high standards in billing operations while fostering a results-oriented culture.
- Conduct regular audits of billing practices to identify adjustments, denials, and reconciliation needs, and communicate outcomes to relevant departments to facilitate resolutions.
- Collaborate on denial management strategies and training needs across the organization, utilizing Lean Methodology and root cause analysis.
- Manage account statuses based on key performance indicators and communicate expectations to billing management.
- Engage with vendors to monitor performance and compliance with contractual obligations, while establishing metrics for accounts receivable and industry standards.
- Oversee the Payer Enrollment process to ensure timely provider enrollment with all payers and assess enrollment requirements for out-of-state beneficiaries.
- Direct the Reimbursement Coordinator on compliance with insurance billing practices.
- Ensure patient satisfaction with billing processes and verify that collection vendors meet contractual obligations.
- Promote a collaborative approach across the organization to align revenue goals with patient satisfaction.
- Ensure that information systems meet the current and future needs of the billing department, collaborating with IT and compliance teams to uphold privacy and security standards.
- Encourage and implement LEAN practices and strategies throughout the department.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, or a related field, along with three or more years of experience in managing healthcare receivables, or
- Eight years of experience in healthcare with five years in a managerial role focused on healthcare receivables.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Certification in Lean methodologies
- Certification from the Healthcare Financial Management Association
