Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cashier to join our team at Sprouts Farmers Market. As a Head Cashier, you will be responsible for supervising a team of cashiers, providing training, and ensuring excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train a team of cashiers to ensure excellent customer service and efficient checkout processes.
  • Monitor and maintain cash register supply levels, and ensure that all cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Assist in the selection and training of new cashiers, and participate in disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Assign store sweeps, and maintain cleanliness standards in our restrooms and parking lots.
  • Schedule and oversee the proper execution of meal and rest breaks pursuant to company policy and state requirements.
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
  • Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Have an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers, representing the company as a role model.
  • Ability to operate front-end equipment, including registers, calculators, and scanners.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitious activities, and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
  • Must lift and carry product weighing up to 30 lbs., for a distance of up to 3 feet, for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
  • Must use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally, requiring a force of up to 35 lbs., for a distance of up to 4 feet, for up to 50 hours.
