Job Description

DPR Construction is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our self-perform Division 7 group, you will be responsible for managing commercial construction projects within our core markets: healthcare, advanced technology, higher education, life sciences, and commercial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of contracts with owners and subcontracts with tiered trade contractors and material vendors.
  • Prepare and manage work scopes, cost structures, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with project teams and self-perform work groups to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues, conflicts, and ambiguities in design information.
  • Prepare and submit change requests, estimates, and documentation as required.
  • Expedite approval of change orders and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Attend and document minutes at owner/architect meetings, subcontractor meetings, staff meetings, and other relevant gatherings.
  • Participate in and apply DPR's environmental health and safety plan to maintain injury-free environments.
  • Assist foremen and field crews in implementing DPR policies and executing projects.
  • Complete safety job site audits and provide financial reports as required.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Effective participation in team environments.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (CMiC or similar), and On Screen Take Off and Quick Bid (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience as a project engineer, preferably within DPR's core market projects with an emphasis in Division 7.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
