About Granite Edvance

Granite Edvance, previously known as the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation, has been a cornerstone in assisting New Hampshire families with higher education planning and financing for over six decades. We guide students in New Hampshire as they prepare for their futures, whether they aim to further their education, pursue vocational training, or enter the workforce. This year, we are proud to award $500,000 in scholarships to college students in New Hampshire. Our organization values its employees and is committed to serving our communities.

Your Role

As a College Success Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing our services aimed at supporting students through their college journey.

You will interact with students across New Hampshire as they navigate their academic experiences, acting as a resource for college success initiatives and services. This includes assisting with the transition from high school to college, navigating institutional resources, and providing support for transfer admissions. Additionally, you will guide students of all ages through the college planning process, including applications, admissions, and financial aid.

Your responsibilities will involve conducting virtual or in-person consultations, offering tailored resources and guidance, delivering presentations to various stakeholders, and providing feedback on the effectiveness of our career planning and success programs.

Utilizing your expertise, problem-solving abilities, and empathetic approach, you will provide personalized advice and support, helping each individual chart their course to success. With a focus on customer service, you will strive to make a meaningful impact on each person's educational journey.

Qualifications for Success

To thrive in this position, you will need exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, families, and community partners, as well as collaborate effectively with colleagues. Your ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals will be crucial in establishing trust with those seeking assistance.

Key qualifications include:

  • 3-5 years of experience in college admissions, advising, student success services, school or career counseling, financial aid, or workforce development.
  • A solid understanding of the support services and resources available to college students in New Hampshire.
  • Awareness of the potential challenges students may face throughout their college journey.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage with various audiences.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • A genuine desire to work with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated and able to adapt in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to travel as required for local schools, partnerships, conferences, and meetings.

This is a full-time hybrid role, requiring in-person work at our Concord office at least two days per week, with additional on-site requirements for onboarding and training as needed.
