Responsibilities

Cultivate relationships. Demonstrate and support the sale of Esri software and solutions as part of the account team. Assist your colleagues in strategizing and executing sales initiatives. Become a subject matter expert. Develop expertise in state and local government operations and become a technical authority on ArcGIS. Communicate confidently with clients about Esri technologies and effectively convey the Esri message. Anticipate client needs and emerging technology trends that may influence them. Address challenges. Proactively design and propose solutions that illustrate how GIS delivers business value by tackling critical issues faced by our clients. Formulate and implement strategies that align Esri technology with their operational goals. Share our narrative. Conduct technical demonstrations of proposed solutions for clients. Design engaging presentations tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences. Provide insights on best practices for the use, deployment, and management of Esri technology. Represent the company at industry conferences and trade events.

Requirements

3+ years of experience with Esri technology, including map creation, spatial analysis, and web application configuration. 1+ years of experience in or supporting state or local government. Familiarity with ArcGIS from an IT perspective, including hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing. Background in technical consulting and conceptual solution design, along with an understanding of sales and business development processes. Experience with geodatabases and related database management systems. Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS. Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills. Willingness to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time. Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer.

Recommended Qualifications

Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture. Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems, including data warehousing, business intelligence, customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning, and analytics platforms. Experience incorporating real-time information streams with existing GIS data and IT infrastructure. Basic understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts. Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript. Master’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field.
