Salary:
Stepping Stones Child Care Center is a pioneering establishment dedicated to early childhood development, offering care and education for children from birth to twelve years old. Our facility operates around the clock to cater to the diverse schedules of working families, ensuring a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for all children entrusted to our care.

Switchpoint's Stepping Stones Child Care Center is currently seeking a Kitchen Aide for part-time hours, Monday to Friday (12 pm - 6 pm).

If you have a passion for cooking and meal preparation, and wish to contribute to providing healthy and nutritious meals for children, this role is ideal for you. The Kitchen Aide will assist in meal and snack preparation under the guidance of the Food Service Director. This position serves as an excellent entry-level opportunity to develop skills and gain experience in the food service industry.

The responsibilities of the Kitchen Aide include:

  • Supporting the Food Service Director with ingredient preparation, including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping various food items.
  • Maintaining cleanliness by properly sanitizing all food preparation areas in accordance with hygiene standards.
  • Washing and storing cooking utensils, appliances, and dishes appropriately.
  • Assisting with inventory management and ensuring proper storage of food supplies.
  • Cleaning kitchen floors and surfaces, and managing waste disposal.
  • Preparing meals and snacks for children in care, while adhering to all food health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Compliance with local, state, and federal child care regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and families.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Successful completion of a background check as per Utah Child Care Licensing requirements.
  • Completion of required training and certifications upon hire, including CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers Permit.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours to meet the needs of families.
