Job Title: Principal Process Engineer

BAE Systems USA is seeking a highly skilled Principal Process Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for providing process engineering support, guidance, and instruction to operators in support of Circuit Card manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide process engineering support to operators in support of Circuit Card manufacturing
  • Perform manufacturing support activities using technical knowledge of generally used assembly practices
  • Support/Lead factory continuous improvement activities and projects
  • Develop robust processes and validate new equipment
  • Oversee process machinery and develop sound programs or methods
  • Create and maintain process documents
  • Support Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material
  • Perform quality audits of hardware, PFMEA, First Article Inspections (FAI), monitor defects, and track trends

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 12 years of progressive electronics manufacturing experience
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate leadership necessary to support the manufacturing team
  • Strong Electronics Manufacturing Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) aptitude
  • Ability to present and clearly communicate data to peers, management, and customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 10 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 15 years of progressive electronics manufacturing experience
  • Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing training or knowledge
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • SMT Equipment and Programming knowledge
  • Equipment validation and capital expenditures knowledge
  • Automated Optical and X-Ray inspection
  • Experience with CCA cleaning and conformal coating processes
  • Performs Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action methodology
  • IPC-A-610 / IPC-A-620 / J-STD-001
  • Data Collection and Analysis
