We are seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer to support our operations. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 10 years' experience in the design and implementation of heavy industrial control systems, ideally within the aggregates sector or a similar field. Familiarity with Allen Bradley and GE PLCs is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Continuous Improvement. Assess and propose innovative technologies aimed at enhancing facility productivity and minimizing expenses. Analyze current plant operations to identify areas for operational efficiency enhancement. Create tools and applications that bolster our ability to optimize plant performance and develop predictive maintenance strategies.

PLC Programming. Refine existing PLC code, including loop tuning and program modifications. Create new PLC code and adjust current code as necessary.

Historian System Support. Aid in the implementation and upkeep of the Historian system.

Cost Projections. Generate cost estimates and project timelines for capital and operational projects as required. These projections will encompass expenses related to PLC and HMI systems, associated software, and installation costs. Participate in evaluating capital and operational projects for design accuracy, feasibility, and cost-effectiveness concerning process control.

Dashboard Development. Construct asset models to facilitate the creation of dashboards and production reports. Develop dashboards and reports at the plant level to assist operations management and promote operational enhancements. Engage in establishing asset model standards. Draft technical specifications and purchase requisitions for process control apparatus.

Project Oversight. Manage plant projects by collaborating with internal teams and external contractors, establishing timelines and objectives to achieve milestone targets.

Stay Informed on Industry Trends. Keep abreast of technological advancements, best practices, and code standards, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NEMA, relevant to your work in the electrical and instrumentation sector. Evaluate future plant control systems and leverage new technologies and innovative solutions to gain a competitive edge.

Provide Assistance. Support division process control engineers in maintaining and enhancing existing plant automation systems. Collaborate with the Corporate IS Department in the setup and configuration of plant networks, wireless systems, and firewalls. Aid in the formulation and enforcement of Corporate Standards, Specifications, and Policies.

Additional Duties. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills:

Educational Background. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

Professional Experience. A minimum of 10 years' experience in designing and implementing heavy industrial control systems, preferably in aggregates or a related field, is preferred.

Technical Proficiency. In-depth knowledge of Allen Bradley and GE PLCs, Wonderware and FactoryTalk HMIs, and Historian Software systems is highly desired. Familiarity with SQL Server and other reporting tools is beneficial. Understanding of industrial control systems, PLC, and HMI programming is essential. Knowledge of computer networking is a plus but not mandatory.

Functional Expertise. Additional competencies include identifying electrical issues, troubleshooting, and hands-on installation experience. Comprehensive knowledge of asset modeling to support corporate-wide initiatives.

Time Management. Must possess the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Capable of thriving in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment that demands complex technical information and decision-making. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight; self-motivated and organized.

Communication Skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Capable of conveying complex information clearly, concisely, and positively.

Driving Requirement. Must be able to operate a pickup truck or car on a daily basis.
