Job Summary


The Communications Assistant Manager plays a vital role within the Communications and Business Development team, contributing to the enhancement of the Firm's visibility and reputation across its global network.

This position involves supporting the development of initiatives aimed at elevating the Firm's brand and profile, particularly in relation to individual Partners, practice areas, and offices.

The role encompasses research, analysis, and the implementation of strategies focused on communications, recognition, and media opportunities. This includes managing thought leadership campaigns, media outreach, awards submissions, social media engagement, and other related communications efforts, all while upholding the Firm's commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities/Duties

In collaboration with the Communications team and the broader Business Development Department, the Communications Assistant Manager will:
  • Identify and assess opportunities to enhance the visibility of the practice and its partners through media engagement and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Drive media engagement by promoting significant transactions and litigation successes through appropriate channels.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key media outlets and contacts, facilitating connections for essential partners.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of strategies for bylined articles and contributed content, including coordinating submissions and publication agreements.
  • Spot opportunities for media commentary and prepare relevant materials.
  • Generate content for LinkedIn and other pertinent social media platforms.
  • Conduct research and analysis on speakers at Firm events, compiling reports on their commentary and thought leadership.
  • Mentor and train junior team members and other members of the Business Development Department.
  • Compile and review the Firm's communications coverage.
  • Monitor news wires and clipping services, staying informed on industry-specific media and publications.
  • Assist key stakeholders in preparing award submissions and survey responses for various legal and business publications, providing competitive intelligence analysis.
  • Create and update website content, including partner biographies and various Business Development communications materials.
  • Support the design and production of advertising, posters, flyers, and other promotional materials in collaboration with the Graphic Design team and external vendors.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of Business Development and Communications materials, including brochures and practice area descriptions.
  • Assist with Business Development projects and other Firm initiatives as required.
  • Perform various operational support functions related to Communications and Business Development strategies and policies.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and web-based research.
Preferred Skills

Experience in developing award submissions or in marketing and business development within a law firm is preferred.Required Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.Required Education

A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Communications, English, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.Salary Information

The estimated base salary range for this position is $140k to $170k. The actual salary offered will depend on various factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, and level of education attained.
